History

In 1968 there were no such things as property managers. If a homeowner was faced with a temporary transfer they had to impose on friends or family to take care of their most valuable asset. It was at this time that Major John Offord found himself being asked to take care of properties on behalf of absentee Army colleagues, and it was a role he fulfilled with military precision. As a result his reputation grew quickly and he soon incorporated Arjay Residential Property Management as the first dedicated residential property management company in Wellington.

Since then Arjay Residential Property Management has continued to provide the same excellent service, and remains the preferred property management company for a number of Government agencies. Having built the core business on satisfying the needs of home owners temporarily relocating Arjay Residential Property Management is able to offer property investors the same peace of mind.

Arjay Property Management continues to be a family business now owned and operated by the Major's son in law, Erich Bucher, and his wife Angela. Prior to joining the company in 1986 Erich worked in hotel management, having held a senior position for several years in Wellington's top hotel of the time. Erich brought with him extensive management experience in this industry and has applied his customer service background to his role in residential property management. Along with the rest of the staff they have more than 60 years combined experience in property management.
